Kayla's family, friends and supporters joined the community of nearly 250k people walking in hundreds of cities across the country in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.  Kayla's Angels Out of the Darkness Jersey Shore Walk was held on Saturday, September 17th.

Stress Trauma and Media Overload

Soon after the movie theater shooting in Aurora, ColoradoMedia there was plenty of media coverage.  While many networks and cable outlets take appropriate steps to avoid showing traumatic or graphic images there are some print, television and radio organizations that flood the environment with reminders of this horrific community tragedy and its aftermath. It is possible to limit media consumption in your home, but you may not have control over what your children see and hear outside of the house.

Coordinated Family Care, Middlesex County’s CMO, has implemented "encrypted" email. This is an important piece of our efforts to safeguard the privacy of our youth and families’ information. Encryption protects the content of email messages from being read by people other than the intended recipient.

We recognize that reading an encrypted email requires an extra step or two, but we believe that protecting privacy is worth the effort. If you have any trouble with instructions below, please be sure to ask the CFC sender for help.
