We proudly invite all eligible agencies to review the following information regarding the application process for the CRDF FY2027!

Please note that there has been a change in the application requirements. This year, all agencies funded by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) must comply with the Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) background check requirement, as mandated by N.J.S.A. 9:6-8.10f.

As of October 1, 2019, the CARI Online Application System is available for DCF-affiliated agencies to create accounts and submit CARI applications.

If your agency already conducts CARI checks:

• Complete the CARI Attestation Form.

• Submit the form along with your proposal to the CRDF email by the stated deadline.

• This form confirms that all agency staff working directly with youth under 18 have successfully passed the CARI background check.

If your agency needs to implement CARI checks:

• Refer to the CARI Implementation Guideline provided.

• Once registration and checks are complete, submit the CARI Certification Form with your proposal.

• Any fees associated with the CARI registration process may be included in your agency’s budget proposal.
